Have you ever seen the northern lights? I've only seen them once, while on a nighttime horseback ride on an Ojibwa reservation in North Dakota. While not as spectacular as the lights in the video, they were incredibly beautiful. Combined with the crisp summer night air, the stars, and the sound of horse hooves as we galloped across the plains, it made for a most magical night.
Apparently, the northern lights will peak in 2013, so start planning your vacation to Alaska!

Yes! I saw them once from the cockpit of a B777...on my way to Shanghai!
ReplyDeleteI was working the flt (of course) and the pilots called from the cockpit and asked me to come up there ASAP. It was beautiful...with all the glass of the cockpit, away from all the city lights...just us, the stars and the northern lights!
Also...I love the music...just recently downloaded this song...it's from the movie Gladiator...with Russel Crowe.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love the lights! Can't wait to actually see them one day. It's also amazing to watch the earth slowly rotate and the stars move across the sky.
